Any Chopin players here?

Hi Everyone,
I'm Rick, Artistic Director of the California based fusion dance company, BelCobraDance. After a 3 year struggle with attempting to choreograph the Ballade in G minor, first as a solo and then as a duet, I'm almost finished setting it on my partner and I. It's an "old school" romantic duet, a fusion of ballroom, ballet and modern, inspired somewhat by Fred and Ginger, Gene and Lesley, Rudolf and Margot...

Yesterday, not being able to find my Ashkenazy CD, I substituted the Kissin version, which by the third run through of our dance started becoming more comfortable, what with the differences in tempo and rubato emphases between the two. After rehearsal my partner and I were talking, and the idea occured to me that there just might be somebody out there who would be interested in playing it live for us at some point. No big money as yet, although we are starting to get internationally networked (I'll be travelling to the ISPA Congress next month), so my eventual goal is to do more touring and actually get paid.

We will be performing the piece at the Boulder Fringe Festival in August, in addition to a structured dance improvisation set to the Berceuse. I have also choreographed two Nocturnes in the past, and have some ideas about a dance set to Ballade #2, which speaks to me of barely restrained madness. In the Romantic vein, I've also worked in the past with solo piano works by Schubert, Brahms and Rachmaninoff, and I'm currrently also working on Shostakovich's Prelude and Fugue #12, the Prelude being a wonderful passacaglia.

So, glad I found this tribe. Small but beautiful.

Anyone interested?
